Behind the gameplay screens, MooveXR and MooveGoXR handle several system-level features that affect your experience.
Themes
Section titled “Themes”Each event can have a custom visual theme — colors, sounds, gadget visuals, and UI style. The theme is set by the organizer and applied automatically when you join the event. You don’t choose or change themes yourself.
Some events use seasonal themes (Christmas, Halloween, pirates) that change the entire look and feel of the app.
Language
Section titled “Language”The app supports 12 languages. The language is usually set automatically based on your device language. If the app shows a language you don’t understand, check your device’s language settings.
Offline behavior
Section titled “Offline behavior”The app downloads all challenge content (images, audio, video, AR targets) as part of the event package when you join. This means:
- Challenges work without internet — once downloaded, you can complete challenges even if your connection drops
- Results queue up — if you’re offline when you complete a challenge, the result is saved and submitted automatically when you reconnect
- GPS tracking pauses — the organizer won’t see your position updates until you’re back online
Your session state is saved to disk. If the app closes or your phone restarts, it picks up where you left off.
Demo mode
Section titled “Demo mode”Some events are configured for trade shows or demonstrations. In demo mode:
- A demo animation popup appears periodically (every few minutes) to attract attention
- The app is fully functional — real gameplay still works underneath
- Demo mode is an overlay, not a replacement
You’ll rarely encounter demo mode unless you’re testing an event or at a promotional booth.
Push notifications
Section titled “Push notifications”During the event, you may receive notifications on your device:

| Gadget received | Another team sent you a gadget — expect a visual effect |
| Message from staff | The organizer sent your team a message (check Chat) |
| Segment change | Staff moved your team to a different segment — your available challenges changed |
| Event status | The event was started, stopped, or restarted |
Team notes
Section titled “Team notes”The app includes a simple notes feature where you can jot down text during the event. Useful for remembering clues, codes, or observations. Notes are saved locally on your device.
