How to prepare your device
A few minutes of preparation before the event saves you from problems during it.
Before you leave
Section titled “Before you leave”1. Install the app
Section titled “1. Install the app”Download MooveXR or MooveGoXR from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Your organizer will tell you which one.
- MooveXR — For staffed events (team building with organizers on site)
- MooveGoXR — For self-guided experiences (city tours, no staff)
2. Check your device
Section titled “2. Check your device”| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Android | 8.0 or later |
| iOS | 13.0 or later |
| Free storage | At least 500 MB (app + event data) |
| Battery | Start with a full charge. Bring a power bank if possible. |
3. Enable permissions
Section titled “3. Enable permissions”The app needs these permissions to work. Enable them in your phone’s Settings before the event:
- Location (GPS) — Required. Set to “Always” or “While using the app.” Without this, challenges won’t activate and the organizer can’t track your position.
- Camera — Required for QR scanning, photo/video challenges, and AR features.
- Notifications — Recommended. You’ll receive alerts about gadgets, messages from staff, and event status changes.
4. Have your code ready
Section titled “4. Have your code ready”Make sure you have your locator code, QR card, or deep link accessible. Don’t bury it in an email you’ll struggle to find while standing in the sun with your team.
At the venue
Section titled “At the venue”- Check GPS signal. Open a maps app and confirm your position is accurate. If you’re indoors, GPS may be unreliable — the organizer will usually have a workaround (QR activation, manual tap).
- Connect to Wi-Fi if available. The event download can be 50-200 MB. Downloading over Wi-Fi is faster and saves mobile data.
- Keep the app in the foreground. GPS tracking works best when the app is the active app on your screen. Switching away can reduce accuracy.
