Staff evaluation workflow
Event staff use the same MooveXR app as players, but with additional tools for reviewing submissions, awarding points, and managing the event in real time.
Step 1: Log in as staff
Section titled “Step 1: Log in as staff”Staff don’t use locator codes. Instead, they log in with a username and password — the same credentials used for MooveTeam CMS.
- Open MooveXR
- Tap Staff Login (or the login toggle)
- Enter your username and password
- The app shows a list of active events
Step 2: Select the event and team
Section titled “Step 2: Select the event and team”- Choose the event you’re staffing
- Select your staff team from the team list — the organizer creates these in MooveTeam CMS and flags them as staff teams
- Tap Play to enter the event
You’ll see the same map as players, but with access to the staff toolbar.
Step 3: Review pending submissions
Section titled “Step 3: Review pending submissions”Players submit photos, videos, and open-text answers throughout the event. These go into a queue for staff review.
Scoring photos and videos
Section titled “Scoring photos and videos”- Open the Staff section
- Navigate to Pending Media
- Tap a submission to view it — you’ll see the photo or video the team submitted
- Use the slider to set a score from 0 to the maximum points configured for that challenge
- Tap Submit Score
- The team’s ranking updates immediately
Scoring open-text answers
Section titled “Scoring open-text answers”- Navigate to Pending Questions (or the equivalent section)
- Read the team’s written answer
- Set the score and submit
Step 4: Manage the event
Section titled “Step 4: Manage the event”Beyond scoring, staff have tools to control the event in real time:
| Action | What it does | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Award extra points | Add bonus points to a team outside of challenges | Reward good sportsmanship, creative solutions, or compensate for technical issues |
| Change team segment | Move a team to a different segment/phase | Advance teams that are stuck, or manage timed phases |
| Force-complete a challenge | Mark a challenge as done for a specific team | When a team is stuck on a bugged or impossible challenge |
| Suspend ranking | Hide the Ranking tab for all players | Build suspense before announcing final results |
All of these actions take effect in real time — players see the changes on their screens within seconds.
Step 5: Monitor results
Section titled “Step 5: Monitor results”Staff can view:
- Live ranking — Same view as players, plus the ability to see challenge-level details
- Team results — Which challenges each team has completed, with scores
- Submission history — All scored and pending submissions
Use this information to pace the event — if most teams are stuck on one challenge, consider force-completing it or giving a hint over the PA system.
Common staff scenarios
Section titled “Common staff scenarios”A team’s device crashed mid-event
Section titled “A team’s device crashed mid-event”- Tell the team to reopen the app — their progress is saved
- If the app asks to log in again, re-enter the locator code — the server reassigns them to their team
- If another device has taken their code, go to MooveTeam CMS > Teams tab > Unassign the conflicting device
A photo submission is inappropriate
Section titled “A photo submission is inappropriate”Score it as 0 points. There’s no “reject” action — a zero score effectively rejects it.
The event is running behind schedule
Section titled “The event is running behind schedule”Use force-complete on remaining challenges for slow teams. This lets you move to the closing ceremony without leaving teams stranded on unfinished challenges.
You want to announce a winner dramatically
Section titled “You want to announce a winner dramatically”Suspend the ranking 5 minutes before the end. Players can no longer see scores. Then announce the results yourself at the venue.
